While the plan is to glow the balloons at night the preparations start during the evening. From 7pm the teams will be in the Gardens and along the Beach to the West of the peir assembling their balloons in time for the glow.
As dusk falls the fans will be started and the balloons will fill with cold air gradually taking on the traditional tear drop shape of a balloon.
Before the light fails the pilots will turn on their burners and the balloons will rise from the ground.
